In threat assessment, there are characteristics and behaviors common to those who act out violently, are spontaneously violent, or plan violence. Psychiatrists and forensic psychologists built the framework for this area of study. We utilize the investigative tools and objective criteria available to put a person’s behavior into context and predict the probability of violence.
In instances where an individual or group feels threatened, we make every attempt to collect relevant information and strategically evaluate it. Experts have determined methods to manage the risk these individuals present, and after a thorough assessment we can recommend a plan to help you minimize the likelihood of violence, including a profile of the issue and/or person(s), along with specific recommendations and action steps.
For “targeted” individuals, corporations, or organizations, we provide threat assessments. Those who could benefit from our threat assessments include:
- Any person or organization that has received a specific threat.
- A person being stalked or harassed.
- An organization that has a specific “problem” employee whose behavior is making others uncomfortable and causing reason for concern.
- An individual concerned about an intimate relationship that is getting uncomfortable.
- A corporation or agency that works with large numbers of individuals and is interested in proactively determining those individuals who should be of concern. We live with the realities of workplace and school violence. These types of assessments allow those organizations to have a proactive model in place to detect behavioral clues.
